Students must follow the following steps to process and access the online application form :

To fill in the application form, you must have Firefox/Internet Explorer browsers to open the admission portal and Adobe Reader to print the Online Challan Receipt. Please don’t click on back or reload/refresh(F5) button on your browser while filling up the online form.

Step 1 : Click on the Online Admission 2013 link. It will open Declaration page. Read and accept the declaration by clicking on the check box and then click on the Next button to open the Eligibility Criteria page.
Step 2 : Select the proper Stream & Course from the drop-down list. Select the appropriate values from drop down menu like category, stream, board etc. in the Admission Bracket.

Once you select all the required details in the Admission Bracket the system will display the Guidelines for Selection andEligibility Criteria for the selected Stream/Course. If you see that you are meeting the specified eligibility criteria then select Yesfrom the Eligibility Criteria and click on Click To Apply button which will take you to Applicant Details page (1st page) of Application Form.
Step 3 : Fill-in all applicable fields in the Online Application Form. The mandatory fields are marked with red *. After filling up all the necessary fields click on Next button which will ask “Please confirm your entry” if you are sure you have entered data correctly then click on the OK button. If you want to edit the data you entered then click on Cancel button, a viewable and editable page will appear on screen. In case you need to make any corrections you may edit the data and then click “Next” and confirm your entry by Clicking on OK button which will take you to next page (Academic & Relevant details).
Step 4 :

Select your Board. If you are Other Board, select it and you are allowed to type in the Text Box beside it to enter your Board Name. Enter your Roll Number, Division and Rank. Click on Marks Entry button which will open 5 rows to allow you to enter marks of 5 subjects. You can also add more subject marks by Clicking on Add button and also remove a row by selecting the row from adjacent check box and then clicking on Remove Row button.

You have to enter all the subjects and marks that is there in your Class XII mark-sheet.

Once the subject marks are entered, click on Done button. It asks you to confirm your marks entry.

Click OK to confirm or Cancel to review and edit your marks.

In the Subjects proposed to be studied block select ‘Elective / Modern Indian Language’ of your choice. In case Elective Subject drop-down has a ‘Combination’ button next to it click the button to open the ‘Select Subjects’ pop-up and select Elective Subjects of your choice. After filling up all necessary fields in the Subjects proposed to be studied and Payment Details at the bottom you will see two buttons Save & Previous. Click on the Save button which will save your data and display your Confirmation Form Number and also a link for allowing you to view and verify/check your Application Details in Adobe PDF format.

You may also choose to go to previous page by clicking Previous button.

Step 5 :

Click on the link “Please click here to view your application” which will display the application Details with entered data in PDF format. This is for your reference only to check your data filled in. This is not an Application Form.

Click on the link “Please click here to generate Challan Receipt” which will display the Challan Receipt with entered data in PDF format. Print out of Challan Receipt must be taken.

Click on Print picture button at the PDF tool bar to take the printout of the Challan Receipt or click on Save picture button at the PDF tool bar to save the Challan Receipt.

Step 6 : The Challan Receipt for Rs. 150.00 should be submitted to the following branches of Canara Bank during Banking Hours.

  • 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in Accountancy plus 45% marks in BEBM / Maths / Stats.
  • 55% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in Maths / Stats. (For Science Students).
For SC/ST Category :
  • 40% marks in aggregate OR 40% marks in related Subject.
For Physically Challenged and For Outstanding Sports Person :
  • 50% marks in aggregate OR 45% marks in related Subject.

Note:
1. The word ‘Subject’ or ‘related Subject’ for B.Com. Honours in Accounting & Finance will denote that the applicant must study any of the following subjects.

Accountancy, Business Economics including Business Mathematics, Business Organization & Management, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Accounts, Business Studies, Financial Accounting, Office Practice and Secretarial, Elements of Cost Accountancy and Auditing, Book Keeping, Business Mathematics, Cost Accountancy & Principle of Management.

(a) GEOGRAPHY HONOURS

  • 55% Marks in aggregate and 60% Marks in Geography.
For SC/ST Category :

For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
  • 50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Geography.


Weightage will be given to respective Subjects. (b) ENGLISH HONOURS
For General Category :
  • 55% Marks in aggregate and 60% Marks in subject.

Note:
Students applying for English Honours course will have to appear in an Admission Test, which will be conducted on 17.06.2013 at 7-30 a.m. to 9-00 a.m. They are requested to follow the concerned notice, They must present the online form submission receipt as Admit Card.

Syllabus
Those who intend to appear in the Admission Test for English Honours Course must take note :
  • Full Marks for Admission test will be 50.
  • The applicant will have to write an Essay on a topic connected to literature. Though the answer must be compact, it should also be rich in ideas.(20marks)
  • A poem will be given and the Student will have to answer questions on it. Attention should be given to the theme, the images and the use of language.(20 marks)
  • Words will be given and the student will have to make sentences with the noun, verb, adjective or adverbial form of that word.(5 x 2 = 10 marks)

Weightage will be given to respective Subjects and marks obtained in the admission test.
(c) BENGALI HONOURS
For General Category :
  • 50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in subject.
For SC/ST Category :
  • 40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in Bengali.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
  • 50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject.

Weightage will be given to respective Subjects.
(d) POLITICAL SCIENCE HONOURS
For General Category :
  • 50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in subject.
For SC/ST Category :
  • 40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in Political Science.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
  • 50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject OR 55% Marks in Political Science.

Weightage will be given to respective Subjects.
(e) HISTORY HONOURS
For General Category :
  • 50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in subject.
For SC/ST Category :
  • 40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in History.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
  • 50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject.

Weightage will be given to respective Subjects .
(f) EDUCATION HONOURS
For General Category :
  • 50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in subject or related subject.
For SC/ST Category :
  • 40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in Education or related subject.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
  • 50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject or related subject.

EDUCATION HONOURS :
The subject Psychology / Philosophy / Mathematics / Sociology / Economics / Political Science/History be treated as related subject.

Weightage will be given to respective Subjects.
(g) ECONOMICS HONOURS
For General Category :
  • 55% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in Mathematics/Business Mathematics or Economics.
For SC/ST Category :
  • 40% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in Mathematics/Business Mathematics or Economics.
For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :
  • 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in Mathematics/Business Mathematics or Economics.

Weightage will be given to respective Subjects.
For ECONOMICS HONOURS :
A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Economics if she has passed in Mathematics at the H.S.Examination (10+2) conducted by West Bengal Council of H.S.Education or its Equivalent examination in Mathematics / Business Mathematics(for ISC). (NOT BUSINESS ECONOMICS INCLUDING BUSINESS MATHEMATICS).
Weightage will be given to respective Subjects.
3. B.A. / B.Sc. General West Bengal Council / Other Boards General Combination with Geography
  • 45% Marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Geography.
General Combination without Geography
  • Candidate who has passed the H.S Examination (10+2 Course) is eligible for Direct Admission.

Admission will start on and from 28th June, 2013 at 7-00 a.m in the College campus.

Candidates offering Elective English and Elective Bengali must have secured 45% marks in aggregate and in respective subject.

Admission Regulation as per the University of Calcutta

Regulation for Admission to the three year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Honours & General) Course of studies effective from the Academic Session 2013-14.

Admission Qualifications

  • A Candidates who passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent Examination in 2010 and onwards are eligible to seek admission to the 1st year of the 3-year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Honours & General) course of Studies Provided she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.
  • For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Honours & General Course, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Environmental Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. If the subject “Environmental Science” is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.
  • Those making on line application for admission, a merit list will be published strictly following norms set by the college authority as per University rules.
  • Eligibility for making on line application, however dose not guarantee admission.
  • Marks obtained in Painting, Art, Fine Arts and other non-allied subjects will not be taken into account.
  • Separate on line application forms should be used when a student opts for Honours in different subjects.
  • Foreign students should contact Principal for Admission.

Migrating Candidates

Students who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination or its equivalent from the All India Boards/Councils (i.e. CBSE, ISC & National Institute of Open Schooling) need not require to submit Migration Certificate for getting Registration under the University.

Reservation of Seats

  • 22% for Scheduled Castes :
    The College will not accept SC/ST certificates other than Original or acknowledgement receipt for application for the same from Government sources along with Father’s Certificate.
  • 6% for Scheduled Tribes :
    The College will not accept SC/ST certificates other than Original or acknowledgement receipt for application for the same from Government sources along with Father’s Certificate.
  • Maximum of 3% for Physically Challenged :
    As per the University of Calcutta subject to the valid certificate from the Presidency Surgeon/Chief Medical Officer of the District is essential.
  • 2% For Sports Person :
    For availing Sports Quota candidates must produce certificate of Participation on Nation/State Level Meet.
  • If adequate number of Scheduled Tribe candidates is not available, remaining seats shall be made available to Scheduled Caste candidates first. If adequate number of Scheduled Caste Candidates is not available, remaining seats shall be made available to Scheduled Tribe candidates first. If adequate number of Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe candidates is not available, even after that, the seats may be made available to General category Candidates provided approval is available from Appropriate Government Department.

    Outstanding Sports Person means a Person who has represented the State or Nation in the National or International level Sports events.

    If selected for Admission, such Sports persons must produce Certificate (s) in Original from appropriate authority, which will be adequately verified from such authority before admitting those Sports persons. If at the time of verification, any of those certificates are found to be false, admission shall be cancelled and complaint will be lodged in the appropriate forum

Students are advised to choose their subjects very carefully at the time of their admission. If, for any reasons , they desire to change any of their subjects, they should apply to the Principal within one month from the date of commencement of classes on payment of fee of Rs. 25.00 provided that seats are available. In the greater interest of the students a candidate may have to change her subject if the College authority asks her to do so.
